This Privacy Policy explains how the AI Beard Style & Color Try On app (published by Nep Tech Pal Pvt. Ltd. on Google Play and by Bibek Acharya on the Apple App Store, together “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and retains information when you use the app. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name.
When you use an AI feature, you pick or take a photo of a face (and, optionally, a reference style photo). The photo is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection so the result can be created.
To recommend styles, the AI estimates general facial features such as face shape and proportions from your photo. This is used only to create your result. It is not used for face recognition, biometric identification or to build a profile of you, and it is not linked to your identity.
If you subscribe, Apple or Google handle payment. We receive only the purchase status (via RevenueCat) to unlock Pro features. We never see your card details.
Like most apps, we and the services listed in section 4 receive technical data such as device model, operating-system version, app version, language, approximate (coarse) location derived from IP address, in-app events (for example “style generated”), crash and performance reports, and – only if you allow tracking – your device’s advertising identifier.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
To analyze your face shape and facial hair and create beard style and beard-color images, the photo you choose is sent over an encrypted connection to our servers and processed by our AI provider, Google LLC, using Gemini models on Google Cloud Vertex AI. Google acts as our service provider (processor): it processes the image only to return the result to us, under the Google Cloud data processing terms, and does not use it to train its models. Our servers are hosted in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany); generated images are stored on Cloudflare R2.
We do not use your photo or face data to identify you, for advertising, or for tracking, and we never sell or rent it. You are asked for permission in the app before any photo is uploaded, and you can withdraw it in Settings. If you do not agree, the photo features will not upload anything, and the rest of the app still works.
We share only the data each service needs to work:
Free users see ads from Google AdMob. Pro subscribers do not see ads. On iOS we ask for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, and in the EEA, UK and Switzerland through Google’s consent form, before your advertising identifier is used for personalized ads. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized. You can change this at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking). Your photos and face data are never used for advertising. We also use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure app installs from our ads; advertiser-ID collection is turned off in it.
All data between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to servers and storage is restricted to authorized staff. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
We process your photo based on your consent, given in the app before upload. We process purchase data to perform our contract with you, and analytics, diagnostics and security data based on our legitimate interest in running a reliable app. Personalized ads use your consent.
The app is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the related data.
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. Important changes will be announced in the app.
